Whitney Wolfe went to Southern Methodist University, where she obtained her degree in International Studies. The next chapter in Whitney Wolfe’s life began at 22 when she joined Hatch Labs. While at Hatch Labs, she got involved with Cardify, which helped her get the experience to co-found the dating app Tinder in 2012. Whitney Wolfe stayed with the company until late 2014, when she left to pursue her dream of opening her own company. She moved to Austin, Texas and founded her company Bumble, which is a dating app that allows women more control over their content. Bumble is revolutionary as it is the only dating app that only allows its female users to start conversations. Bumble went live at the end of 2014, and by mid-2015 the site already had over 80 million profiles. Tinder and Bumble were named the fist and most popular dating apps in 2016.

Whitney Wolfe has received multiple awards and nominations, including 30 Most Important Women Under 30, and she was named one of the Women in Tech by Elle.

She founded a non-profit when she was still in college called Help Us Project, and traveled to Southeast Asia after graduating college to focus on helping other people, with a special emphasis on children, by improving local orphanages.
